Guided tours & workshops

Discover the history of the noble art and craftmanship of printing.

 

Guided tours

Your voyage through the museum will start off at our historical printing workshop and then proceeds through our photo engraving workshop, bookbinding workshop and lithography workshop, after which our tour will come to an end in the former studio of printer and artist Hendrik Nicolaas werkman. During the tour several of the printing presses and type setting machines will be demonstrated, bringing the history of printing even more alive.

Workshop Werkman techniques

H.N. Werkman was a famous printer/artist who developed a unique printing style for making artwork for which he used lead and wooden letters, printing ink and other materials form his studio. The Grafisch Museum is the only place where you can learn to work in his style.

  • Duration: approximately 2 hours
  • Number of people: 4-14

Guided tour + workshop

It is also possible to combine a guided tour with a workshop Werkman techniques, Groups with larger numbers of people will be split up and alternately follow the workshop and the guided tour.
