Wood printing

The technique of woodprinting has been known and practised for centuries. A picture is carved into a flat piece of wood. The carved planes and lines are covered with ink and pressed onto paper with a printing press. In this way a series of prints can be produced.

It is not necessary to have any printing experience or drawing talent. Anybody who's curious about this technique and doesn't mind getting his hands dirty is welcome to join in!

The first 4 evenings you'll learn to make a colour print and the last 4 eveneings you'll experiment with the knowledge you've gained.

  • Duration: 8 lessons of 2 hours each
  • Number of people: a maximum of 8
  • Starting time: every eight weeks on Wednesday and/or Thursday; please call the teacher for exact starting dates (050-5515305)
  • Teacher: Marjolein Terwindt-Wetterauw
